about
This is a "sound score" for the first movement of a contemporary ballet/dance piece. The libretto is based on a play by Euripides. Believe it or not, the original play, initially performed in 405 BC, had a theme focused on women rights! In the third movement (this one), the Bacchae community members have returned to their camp after rescuing Bacchae from prison. During the rescue battle, the sheriff was killed, and they perform an appropriate ceremony to honor his life. After that, a celebratory dance takes place. Peace is restored to the camp.
