about
This is a "sound score" for the first movement of a contemporary ballet/dance piece. The libretto is based on a play by Euripides. Believe it or not, the original play, initially performed in 405 BC, had a theme focused on women rights! This track starts with "creation", then dawn breaking on Bacchanal's camp. The members of Baccanal's community engage in a dance of celebration. Towards the end of this movement, Bacchae is arrested by the town's police, and thrown into prison (the music "grates" on you as it is intended to do!). Two more movements (the second movement is not included in this album, the third is available free), complete the ballet. Some sections of this track are a remix.
